This shoot started out as the third in a series of virtual photography tests – combining typical real-life studio photoshoots into a digitally created 3D landscape.
The original creative concept was a fairy in a rainforest.
The tech test failed so we opted to shoot “The Fairy”: as a Fine Art Black and White
Virtual Photography
The 3D software allows me to create or utilise virtual scenes – anything from New York subways, Australian deserts to alien landscapes.
A new pre-release version of the 3D design software (Unreal Engine V5.0) was released and I wanted to check out the new “lumin” lighting capabilities – to see whether real-time video compositing worked yet.
For the record, it didn’t – but that’s what tests are for!
I opted for my model – Ruby – on a simple white background to create some classic black and white fine art.
